Launched in 1926, the vessel was mostly deployed in the Far East (China station, Hong Kong) and later in the Indian Ocean. In 1940, it briefly joined the Mediterranean Fleet, and then moved on to serve the Home Fleet. The vessel was dismantled in 1948.

The badge for the ship is the same as the county of Kent’s coat-of-arms. It features the ship's motto ‘Invicta’ which is translated to ‘Undefeated’ or ‘Unconquered’. The circle-shaped badge surrounded by a twisting rope, is topped by a Naval Crown, representing the White Horse of Kent on a Field Red. The badge is mounted onto a wooden plaque as a commemorative piece. The horse is referred to as the ‘white horse of Kent’ or ‘Invicta’. The symbol of the horse was first used on the flag of the county and was then adopted by other institutions as well as the ship HMS Kent.</value></field><field label="Depth" name="depth"><value>17.8000000000</value></field><field label="Inscriptions" name="inscribed"><value>On recto "KENT - INVICTA"</value></field><field label="Dimensions" name="dimensions"><value>Overall: 14.3 × 17.8 cm, 0.3 kg</value></field><field label="Museum" name="department"><value>Malta Maritime Museum</value></field><field label="Alternate ID Numbers" name="altNums"><value>EEA.1288</value><value>21239-40</value><value>82362</value></field><field label="Public Access" name="onview"><value>0</value></field><field label="Object Type" name="textEntriesObjecttype"><value>Crest Badge; Ship Badge</value></field><field label="Node" name="node"><value>Heritage Malta</value></field><field label="Source ID" name="sourceId"><value>118</value></field><field label="Material" name="textEntriesMaterial"><value>Wood, resin, paint</value></field><field label="Technique" name="textEntriesTechnique"><value>Cast in resin and Handpainted on a wooden plaque.</value></field><field label="Place of Manufacture" name="textEntriesPlacemade"><value>Surrey, England</value></field></object>
