He stands on a domed shield, next to a dagger with a lion pommel. The Ottoman flag, on a field red a black crescent, is visible in the background. Other significant iconographical symbols observed underneath the putto include an Ottoman turban, two cannons, and a green and a pink flags in the background. The background receeds into a light blue colour representing the sky, with clouds. The painting was potentially part of a larger rendition, and probably symbolises the achievements of the Order of St. John over the Ottomans.</value></field><field label="Dimensions" name="dimensions"><value>229 x 145.5cm</value></field><field label="Museum" name="department"><value>Malta Maritime Museum</value></field><field label="Location" name="locations"><value>Reserve Collection</value></field><field label="Alternate ID Numbers" name="altNums"><value>81301</value><value>FAS/P/1960 (Card 15935-6)</value><value>EEA.1978</value><value>25611-2</value></field><field label="Public Access" name="onview"><value>0</value></field><field label="Object Type" name="textEntriesObjecttype"><value>Painting</value></field><field label="Node" name="node"><value>Heritage Malta</value></field><field label="Source ID" name="sourceId"><value>572</value></field><field label="Technique" name="textEntriesTechnique"><value>Oil on canvas, stretched on a strainer auxiliary frame.</value></field></object>
