DescriptionOne of a set of four pencil drawings by Nikki Arnett of Sailing yachts. Nikki Arnett was born in United Kingdom in 1964 and he comes from the family line of J.M.W Turner. The drawing depicting Westward shows the yacht on the foreground of the picture plane, taking most of the space, while the background is the paper itself. The drawing is signed.
InscriptionsOn verso, two notes printed. First one reads "'Westward' On Westwards mainsheet there were six blocks, three or four-sheaved each, which meant sweating-in many yards of sheet to gain one foot: They worked their guts out on this beauty. As in those times these beautiful sailing ships, had no winches 'Coffee grinders'. So here we see her in full sail under power". Second one reads "Nikki Arnett was born in the United Kingdom in 1964.
