Daughter of Uranus and Gaia, Phoebe was one of the Titans of Greek mythology, later passing on her power to her grandson, Apollon. As moon goddess Artemis' grandmother, Phoebe's figure is traditionally associated with the moon as well.\r\n\r\nLaunched in Marched 1939, H.M.S Phoebe belonged to the first group of the Dido-class cruisers of the Royal Navy. It was transferred to the 7th Cruiser Squadron in the Mediterranean in April 1941.
