The border of the diamond is slightly elevated mimicking a stranded rope but its upper, horizontal part, which probably carried the vessel's name in a rectangular box, is missing.\r\n\r\nH.M.S Ruler belonged to the Ruler-class aircraft carriers of the Royal Navy.
