Hit by a bomb on the bows while docked in No. 3 Dock at Malta dockyard, on 30 April 1941; the caisson was also damaged and, as a consequence, the dock flooded. During the summer of 1942 the two parts of the wreck were fitted with a false bulhead as a cofferdam, floated, and then scuttled off Malta.
