DescriptionHMNZS Tarapunga was a modified Moa class in-shore patrol vessel of the Royal New Zealand Navy (RNZN). She was built in 1980. The circular badge shows on an Azure field, a displayed red-billed gull. In fact, the "tarapunga" are red-billed gulls native to New Zealand. The circular badge is surrounded by a twisting golden-coloured rope with two crossed Argent ferns at the bottom and topped by a Naval Crown.InscriptionsOn recto "TARAPUNGA".
