Giorgio Pullicino1779 - 1851

Giorgio Pullicino (1778–1852), a Maltese landscape painter and architect, was born in Valletta. He pursued his studies at the Accademia di San Luca in Rome and, in 1803, was appointed Professor of Drawing at the University of Malta, a position he held alongside the painter Michele Busuttil (1750–1828). Pullicino is particularly noted for his harbour scenes, which he rendered using various mediums. Additionally, he is regarded as one of the pioneering figures of neoclassical architecture in Malta.
