DescriptionThis is a pattern for a ship's badge. It is round and represents a rather elaborately carved depiction of a mermaid not in modesty, looking to the side in vanity, since she is holding a mirror in her dexter hand and a comb in her sinister. A mermaid is defined as "a creature known only to sailors".
