BiographyGiovanni Domenico Tiepolo, a Venetian painter and printmaker born in 1727 and died in 1804, trained under his father Giovanni Battista and started taking independent commissions by the age of 20. The younger Tiepolo created both religious and secular works in a manner more direct and less allegorical than his late father's who was an Italian Rococo artist. His works feature in a large number of museums all around the world.
