DescriptionA shield-shaped badge depicting on a Field Blue, a golden cloud with five symmetrically arranged lightnings. The border of the badge is elevated, mimicking a stranded rope. On its topmost, horizontal part, we find the vessel's name in red letters in a rectangular box topped with a naval crown.Thunderbolt and lightnings are attributes of the Roman god Jupiter, equivalent of the Greek Zeus.Launched in October 1938, HMS Jupiter was a J-class destroyer of the Royal Navy. After serving in the Mediterranean for a short period, the vessel moved to the Far East in late 1941.
