Donato Creti

BiographyBorn in Cremona in 1671 and died in 1749 in Bologna, Donato Creti studied under Lorenzo Pasinelli, a prominent leader of Bolognese painting, and belonged to the Rococo period. Creti painting decorative frescoes and a limited number of altarpieces, but he mostly took commissions from private patrons. He alludes a great deal to the traditions of Bolognese painting.
