Andrea Sacchi

BiographyAndrea Sacchi, born in 1559 in Rome, and died in 1661, formed part of the Baroque movement. Sacchi's travels around Italy allowed him to study works by Correggio. Although he lacked confidence as an artist and his career reflected this as he grew old, he will come to teach pivotal artist Carlo Maratta. His works are now on display in important places in Italy including the Vatican.
