Hans Speckaert
1540 - 1577
BiographyHans Speckaert, born around 1540 and died approximately 1557, was part of the Flemish Renaissance art world in Italy whom developed the first signs of Northern Mannerism. He received his training in Brussels. Speckaert is recognised for his many drawings and portraits. Not much is known about his life but it is documented that he was severely injured during his work in an unknown church which resulted in his demise two years later. He will come to influence many of his contemporaries' styles.
